Vol. 10 No. 1 (2026): Proceedings of the World Conference on Media and Mass Communication
The 11th World Conference on Media and Mass Communication (MEDCOM 2026) was successfully held in Bali, Indonesia, from 23rd to 24th March 2026. The conference brought together a diverse international community of academics, researchers, journalists, media professionals, policymakers, and industry representatives from 40 countries. The event provided a valuable platform for sharing knowledge, presenting research, exchanging ideas, and discussing emerging developments in media and communication.
For 2026, MEDCOM was organised under the theme, “Rethinking Media Futures: Sustainability, Resistance, and Communication Justice.” The theme was carefully selected to address key challenges and opportunities shaping contemporary media and communication. In line with this theme, the conference tracks covered a wide range of topics, including artificial intelligence and media, journalism and democracy, media ethics, strategic communication, crisis communication, political communication, environmental communication, and communication for social change.
MEDCOM 2026 was conducted as a hybrid conference and featured keynote sessions, research presentations, workshops, guided-to-publish sessions, and networking opportunities. These activities encouraged meaningful discussions and strengthened academic and professional connections among participants from around the world.
The 1st Issue of the MEDCOM 2026 Conference Proceedings presents a selection of research papers and scholarly contributions presented at the conference. The proceedings reflect diverse perspectives and current research in media and mass communication, providing valuable insights into the changing media landscape.
The successful conclusion of MEDCOM 2026 in Bali marks another important milestone in the conference’s journey and strengthens its role as an international platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and innovation in media and mass communication.
